As a classic masterpiece of the world literature treasure, the popular American novel Gone with the Wind has always been the focus of Chinese literary circles, especially Chinese translators. Fu Donghua and Li Yeguang et al. Translated and translated “Giao” to China in 1940 and 1990, respectively, and the translations of the two were quite different. Interpreting the two versions from the perspective of normative theory, we find that translating is a translator’s decision-making process, a process governed by norms and norms that constrain the translator’s decision-making selectively. Norms vary from time to time, translation should also be due to the time. However, the translator is not a normative slave, and the translator can exert his initiative and make a personalized choice under the constraints of the norms.
