由于Windows 95对TCP/IP协议的支持不是那么尽如人意(比如,提供的TCP/IP应用层的软件较少,如FTP、Tel-net、Rlogin等;在建立TCP/IP应用时,往往与Windows NT结合在一起使用,才能充分发挥其功能),因此,可以通过在Windows 95中安装其他公司的TCP/IP软件(如:Novell公司的Lan Workplace for DOS/Windows或FTP公司的PC/TCP forWindows)来弥补Windows 95在TCP/IP方面的不足,从而实现与UNIX系统资源共享的目的。下面主要以Novell公司的Lan Workplace for DOS/Windows和SCO Open Server 3.0为例进行讲述。
