对糖尿病人来说,运动是一种重要的治疗方法。许多研究已证实,有规律定期的活动可持续降低病人血糖水平。既使运动不能很好的控制血糖水平,也可降低胰岛素的需求量。根据报道,对2000名糖尿病人的跟踪观察显示,运动可降低其大血管病变发生,如心脑血管疾病。从而使定期参加体育锻炼的病人各种并发症、死亡率降低。现已证实,运动可降低正常人的血脂及增加高密度脂蛋白(HDL)与低密度脂蛋白(LDL)的比率。尽管没有明确证明单纯运动可降低糖尿病人的血脂,但仍普遍认为也有这样的效果。
