作为一种“口头文化”,美食自古就与文人墨客有着很深的渊源。德国大诗人歌德就在《铁手骑士葛兹》一书中,以诗人的笔调对美食大加赞美:“吃过喝过之后,你们就会有如新生,就会变得更强壮、更勇敢、更灵活……”歌德不仅是一个伟大的诗人,而且还是一位很有品位的美食家。他每周都会在家里大摆筵席或是邀上三五个知己到野外聚餐。大家围坐在一起一边谈文论诗,一边品饮美食美酒,真是好不快活。除了主食以外,歌德对点心的要求也很高。为了能够吃到正宗的糕点,他专门聘请了一位擅做各种糕点的名厨。每天吃过晚餐后,这位厨师便会端上制作精美、品种丰富的甜点。
