随着工业技术的不断发展,对灰铸铁的使用性能和工艺性能要求愈来愈高。自1986年初以来,常州柴油机厂通过调整铁水硅碳比值Si/C和严格炉前孕育处理等措施,进行高强度、高刚性灰铸铁薄壁铸件的研究和应用。经过两年多时间的生产实践,目前已取得了突破性的进展,从而对提高灰铸铁的强度、刚度,改善铸造性能和切削加工性能均收到一定效果。为了改变采用热处理方法消除铸件内应力的落后状况,国内外对高强度、高刚性灰铸铁已进行了大量的工艺试验和研究,并取得了明显的效果。北京第一机床厂等单位用高强度、高刚性灰铸铁生产机床床身等厚壁铸件,已获得成功。但研制高强度、高刚性灰铸铁薄壁铸件在国内尚属首次。常州柴油机厂生产的高强度、高刚性灰铸铁薄壁件是以S195柴油机机体为研究对象,该机体属薄壁
