Xiao Chaihu Tang (小柴胡汤) Minor Bupleurum Decoction) is the main formula chosen in Shang Han Lun (伤寒论 Treatise on Cold-induced Febrile Diseases) for regulating the Shaoyang Channels. It functions to regulate the flow of qi in the tri-jiao in ascending and descending smoothly, and has been held in high esteem by TCM physicians through the ages. In clinic, the author prefers using the modified Xiao Chaihu Tang in the treatment for depression,and obtains good effect.
