“酒驾”是汽车社会的公害,饮酒后驾驶机动车、醉酒驾驶机动车严重危害道路交通安全,广大人民群众对此深恶痛绝。民有所呼,法有所应,2011年2月,十一届全国人大常委会第十九次会议表决通过《中华人民共和国刑法修正案(八)》,在刑法中增设“危险驾驶罪”。同年5月1日,“醉驾入刑”正式实施。五年来,全国公检法机关紧密协助配合,保持对醉驾治理的长效机制,确保了法律的正确有效实施,依法治理酒驾醉驾深得民心,酒后不开车渐成共识,拒绝酒驾已蔚然成风。
