Objective To observe whether low-intensity actual working environment noise has a protective effect on hearing loss caused by high-intensity noise. Methods Thirty guinea pigs with mottled auricle reflexes and intact eardrums were divided into three groups: conditioned noise group (CG), high intensity noise exposure group (HG), conditioned noise plus high intensity noise exposure group (CHG ). The low intensity noise (conditioned noise) used is 80dBSPL and the high intensity noise is 115dBSPL. Auditory brainstem response (ABR) tests were performed before and after each animal experiment to record the response threshold. Results After the conditioned noise was exposed, the ABR threshold of guinea pigs did not change compared with those before the experiment. However, the ABR thresholds of guinea pigs increased after exposure to high-intensity noise and prior-conditioned noise. However, The response threshold was significantly higher (P <0.001). Conclusion Low-intensity actual working environment noise has a protective effect on the hearing impairment of guinea pigs caused by high intensity noise.
