The occurrence of the “vernacular movement” has its historical inevitability, which is linked with the social transformation of China from tradition to modern times. Its initiation, to some extent, points to the construction of a new form of the imagined community after the collapse of the Qing dynasty and the influence of its straightforward and visual characteristics on later mass mobilization. This is from the “vernacular sports” under a big context. Specific to the “vernacular” movement itself, it involves the cultural supremacy of “upper culture ” (traditional culture) “popular culture ” (Hu Shi, Chen Duxiu and others advocate vernacular literature), involving To the “monopoly of knowledge” and the reorganization of the ecological structure of knowledge. Starting from the medium of “vernacular” and looking at the historical stage at that time, it is also an attempt to break away from the perspective of “media centrism.”
