When I walked into Auburn, a few months ago, at Studio 315, Church Street, New York, I was impressed by the artisan-style atmosphere here. Countless working models made from a variety of materials, ranging from as small as matchboxes to huge structural, interior and detail research models. These models immediately demonstrate their serious, substantive, intimate approach that is very different from the prevailing clinic-like atmosphere of today’s architects-more like a law firm than a workplace where people and life are involved. Auburn Architects reflects personal dedication and deep interest in the art of architecture, not just design as a career service.
