爵士乐起源于美国,它在中国的传播、影响和发展迄今已有百余年。在此过程中,美国爵士乐在中国民众头脑中所唤起的,往往都是美国黑人及其社会文化的形象。本文试图分析,这种“美国爵士音乐—美国黑人文化”关联性音乐形象的形成与中国社会对美国爵士乐及其历史的一般性认知密切相关,并成为一种中国民众借以想象美国黑人“他者”的重要途径。进一步,借由比较文学“套语”分析方法可以看到,“爵士乐就是美国黑人音乐”这一社会性表述背后,还存在着文化传播与接受、社会历史变迁的某些深层次动因。
Jazz originated in the United States, its spread in China, influence and development so far, more than a hundred years. In the process, the American jazz aroused in the minds of Chinese people are often the images of Afro-Americans and their social culture. This article attempts to analyze the formation of such “American jazz music - African American culture” related music image and the Chinese society’s general cognition of American jazz and its history is closely related, and become a Chinese people to imagine the African American “Other” an important way. Further, by means of the comparative literature “metaphorical” analysis, we can see that behind the social expression “jazz is American black music”, there are still some deep-seated motives for cultural transmission and acceptance and changes in social history .
