Waste heat utilization is an important aspect of improving energy efficiency. In the retread production, there are products such as waste gas and waste liquid with thermal energy, physical sensible heat carried by the tire after vulcanization, and these energy are all called residual energy, which is commonly known as waste heat. The use of waste heat in China’s retread industry has only begun in recent years, and the utilization rate of some units is zero. This article outlines the sources and classification of waste heat in the retreading industry, the calculation methods for various types of waste heat, and the technologies that have been applied in some retreading plants.
