班固约在汉明帝统治的中后期确立了断代为史的体例,并名之为《汉书》,寓有颂汉之意。颂汉思想的产生,既与客观的政治环境有关,又与班固作为史官和文人的依附地位有关。同时,家世背景对班固颂汉思想的形成也有重要影响。
