  A Taiwan resident who has been living on the Chinese mainland receives his new mainland residence permit card at a police station in Fuzhou, southeast China’s Fujian Province, on September 3. A new regulation on the application and granting of residence permits for people from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan went into effect on September 1.
