缘于批评意识的独立和本土意识的自觉,20世纪90年代以来的中国当代艺术是以生活和生存的现状为基础来呈现新的媒介与经验的。众多的艺术实验,以情境或问题的介入方式不断地转换和变化,最终造就了相对丰富的视觉表达。然而值得注意的是,当中国本土相继出场着越来越多的当代艺术展并获得更为明确的“合法化”认同的同时,“当代艺术”的自身却在消失许多它们曾经令人激奋的力量和话语。
