《威尼斯商人》是莎士比亚最著名也是争议最多的戏剧之一。多数评论认为,通过该剧的一磅肉的诉讼,赞扬了安东尼奥和巴萨尼奥之间的友谊,鲍西娅和巴萨尼奥之间忠贞的爱情,揭露了夏洛克的刻薄、吝啬、恶毒,体现了莎翁的人文主义精神。该剧描述了很多人的矛盾和冲突,除了安东尼奥和夏洛克之间的冲突外,还存在其他人之间的冲突,如夏洛克与其女儿的矛盾,夏洛克与其仆人之间的矛盾,安东尼奥与鲍西娅之间的冲突。本文作者从文本分析的角度,采取对比的方法,重新探讨了夏洛克与其他人的冲突实质,认为莎翁通过描写剧中夏洛克与其他人的矛盾和冲突,试图展示的是基督教与犹太教之间的斗争以及基督教对犹太教的胜利。
The Merchant of Venice is one of Shakespeare’s most famous and controversial plays. Most commented that the pound of flesh lawsuit through the play praised the friendship between Antonio and Bassano, the loyalty of love between Portia and Bassanio, exposing the cruel, stingy, vicious Shylock, embodied Shakespeare’s humanism. The play describes many people’s conflicts and conflicts.
