Having experienced such catastrophe, it is incredible that this progress is happening now. I am so happy,” she said. Sutan has every reason to be proud. Through her own efforts, she gathered professional musicians from some of the world’s top cultural institutions and 33 Iraqi youth to form the Iraqi National Youth Orchestra. The 18-year-old Baghdad girl obtained funding from an organization including the British Council, and she also persuaded the Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister to make a donation.
