The purpose of this study is to explore the effect of winter sports on serum testosterone and cortisol levels of cyclists with different gender and physical fitness. Methods The level of serum testosterone (T) and cortisol (C) in winter athletes of cyclists were tested and analyzed. Results Serum testosterone was higher in men than in women (P <0.01), and serum cortisol was also significantly different. The testosterone / cortisol ratio was significantly higher in males than in females (P <0.05). The level of serum testosterone in male healthy group was significantly higher than that in normal people (P <0.05), but lower in non-healthy group than in normal people (P <0.01). Female healthy group and non-healthy group were lower than normal People differences were significant (P <0.05). Conclusions Athletes with different levels of body functions respond differently to the same exercise load.
