Through a serological epidemiological investigation of hepatitis B and C virus infection among workers in a health administrative unit, the authors found that the infection rate of HBV among workers in this unit was 53.3%. HBV infection increased with age, but not with gender. The acupuncture workers’ history and the history of exposure to hepatitis B in the family are the influencing factors of HBV infection. Employees engaged in medical and health professionals are at risk of HBV infection. Among the workers surveyed, 2 were anti-HCV positive, with a positive rate of 1.2%, of which 1 was diagnosed as hepatitis C after transfusion and the other was unknown. Nineteen voluntary blood donors were tested for anti-HCV, and the results were negative.
