In August 1965, the teachers and students of our school collaborated with Turpan People’s Hospital to conduct blood pressure surveys on Turpan’s urban residents and members of the People’s Commune. Among the objects of the census are Uighur members who have lived long under the Flaming Mountains, as well as cadres and students of all ethnic groups who have recently moved into Turpan. The purpose is to understand the blood pressure of people of all ethnic groups in the 154-meter basin below sea level and the climate is dry and hot, and to provide information for the prevention and treatment of hypertension. Due to the fact that the original collated data has been lost, we now report the information we have rearranged based on the original survey materials.
