在德国既有一定规模的人工公园、旅游胜地,又有宏大的天然公园、保护区。即便人工公园也保持着天然公园的景观,在居民区和工业区之间有森林相隔。住宅的四周,环绕着宽阔的绿地、草皮几乎覆盖着裸露的土地。农村绿化比城市更好,高速公路的两侧有宽阔的绿地、大片的森林,山前村后是大片葡萄园,苹果园。绿意葱茏,风景如画。德国人爱花,城市、农村、家家户户在宅旁、路边都种植花木草坪,阳台上设有花台。室内也摆着盛开的鲜花或观赏植物。
