杉木具有很强的萌蘖性,且萌蘖多发生在1—5年的幼龄期.在每次萌蘖期,根颈部萌发的萌芽条要消耗大量的养料,这就严重影响了杉木的主干生长,因此,杉木去萌,就成为生产上的一个重要问题.目前,采用的去萌措施(深栽、培土、压条、遮光和修剪等)较费工时,有的还影响杉木生长.而植物激素对于植物的生长具有调控作用.故探索用植物激素或生长调节剂来处理杉苗的新方法是很有必要的.三十烷醇是七十年代发现的一种新型植物生长调节剂,已在多种农作物上取得显著.的经济效果.近年来人们逐步将三十烷醇运用于林业,发现它对树苗的发根、株高和茎粗生长有良好作用,能促进维管束发达和养料输送,加强主干生长和顶端生长等等.本文报道的是采用三十烷醇抑制杉苗萌蘖的试验结果.
