管涔林区,位于山西省西北部,现有以落叶松、云杉幼壮林为主的森林52万余亩,林木蓄积量292万立方米(均不包括集体所有的林木),有宜林的荒山迹地23万余亩。林区内有人民公社39个,人口约10万多。在旧社会,这个林区的森林历经摧残破坏。解放时林木只有31万余亩,蓄积量也不过140万立方米。自建局设场后,16年来,我们高举毛泽东思想的伟大红旗,发扬不断革命的精神,在“以抚育为主,抚、护、造、用相结合”的方针指导下,积极开展各种经营活动,做出了成绩,取得了经验。
