在1997年,无论是商家、媒介还是球迷都似乎遗忘了足坛还有商业比赛这码事。究其原因,大致有以下两方面:一、1997年正是世界杯预选赛年,考虑到国家队的备战,当年的甲 A联赛日程安排较紧,甚至有段时间要一周两赛,从时机上讲,商业比赛可“插足”的空隙不多;二、1996年的商业比赛可谐“赔了夫人又折兵”,中国球队败了,中国球迷烦了,中国商家赔了,在三重打击之下,再无商家敢在1997年挺身而出申办商业比赛了。这也符合事物发展的规律,正如“天下大势,分久必合,合久必分”一样,有高峰也有低谷,沉寂了一年后,1998年也许机会就要来了。
