本文回顾了建国50年、特别是党的十一届三中全会以来文博图书出版取得的巨大成就,指出当前文博图书出版中仍存在着不少问题,如书价偏高、选题重复撞车、学术含量不高、内容太单调等;文博出版界对制作电子出版物的投入明显不足,利用新技术手段也明显落后。因而提出:面对WTO的挑战,文博图书出版不能摆出承受冲击的被动姿态。WTO对市场双方是均等的,我们承受压力的同时,也拥有向外发展、变革的机遇与空间。要积极应对。花大力气控制一批已有和将有的出版资源,以此掌握竞争与合作的主动权。同时要把代表中国先进文化的方向作为重点准则,树立“大文物观念”,将文物的观念最大化地向生活渗透,一业为主,多元文化经营,建构立体的出版框架;要加大改革力度,尽快壮大自己,做好出版社内部的体制和机制改革,伺机在下一轮竞争中抢滩占地,再创佳绩。
