Alexander Mikhailovich Prokhorov is one of the pioneers of the new discipline, quantum electronics. His main work is in radio physics, solid physics and microwave spectroscopy. AM Prokhorov was born on July 11, 1916 in a family of workers in the town of Atoton, Australia. His father was a worker revolutionary during the Tsarist period.
