Since the declaration of the term Romanticism in Lyrical Ballad of Wordsworth in 1798, the curtain of the Romantic age is officially parted. During the process of the appreciation of Romantic poems, we are prone to sense the “spontaneous overflow of feelings”. And we can perceive divergent images of the same object. In this article, the analysis of distinctive images of Autumn in Ode to the West Wind and To Autumn is presented. And the exposition of literary devices that poets has utilized is included. In the end, reasons to the disparity are also elucidated.
