This article reports the dynamic observation of preoperative and postoperative serum total superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels in 10 lung cancer patients undergoing intraoperative radiotherapy, revealing early postoperative radiotherapy. SOD activity and MDA content increased rapidly and peaked at 4 h after operation. SOD activity decreased to a level below preoperative level 24 hours after surgery and showed oxidative stress. The activity of d3 was the lowest after operation, and it failed to return to normal after 1 week. The MDA content slowly decreased with time from the peak, but it was still slightly higher than the preoperative one week after surgery. The observational results show that local radiation during lung cancer surgery can also cause systemic free radical damage, and changes in serum SOD activity and MDA content can be used as indicators for the observation of injury.
