常宁县地处湘南,属半山半丘陵区。从1974年起,鼠害加重,以1976—1977年最为猖獗,鼠害损失已超过了某种病虫。对农业生产和人们日常生活带来了严重威胁,群众反映强烈。

Changning County is located in southern Hunan, a semi-hilly area. Since 1974, the increase in rodent infestation has been the most prevalent in 1976-1977, with the loss of rodent pests over some of the pests. It posed a serious threat to agricultural production and people’s daily life, and the masses responded strongly.
