铁路的客货运输精密统计是铁路进行清算的主要依据之一,同时也是铁路经营决策以及制定铁路发展规划的重要依据。全路自1999年在上海局试点并开始逐步向全路推广基于大型数据库系统的客货运输精密统计计算机系统,该系统采用SYBASE数据库系统和C/S运行模式,相对于早期基于文件系统的精密统计系统而言,由于先进的计算机技术如网络、大型数据库系统,可视化编程等得到应用,数据得到科学的组织和处理,统计工作自动化程度得到了提高,劳动强度也得到了减轻。
