Previous studies by the authors demonstrated that the bright-dark cycle is the main signal for the time-release of gonadotrophin in pre-ovulation of female rats, whereas the daily secretion of adrenal steroid may be an additional signal at the same time. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the daily rhythm of corticosterone (B) changes the response of pituitary gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). Mature female rats in a continuous light exposure experiment were ovariectomized and ovariectomized. B (160 μg / ml in drinking water) or normal saline was maintained.
