在汉晋以前的寿光,先师孔子无特庙,至魏太和三年(479),始立于学宫。文庙旧址在民国初年县治小东门里学宫内。文庙建筑殿宇巍然,廊庑秩若。在科举时代的齐鲁大地诸县中,堪称宏伟,素受仰慕。这一古老建筑虽遭受过战火、地震、动乱等天灾人祸,但屡毁屡建。寿光文庙,是科举时代的人才摇篮,曾经是寿光历史上一处非常特殊的道德、文化、教育遗产,在社会历史发展中,永远是一笔无可替代的宝贵精神财富。
