人们为保证不同用途的房间与厂房内具有舒适的音响效果,广泛采用着各种吸声材料。目前,苏联建材工业中所研制的吸声材料,大多为半砖厚的石膏吸声板。原因在于石膏原料的利用率高,成本低,生产能耗少,以及具有防火性和装饰性等特点。但是,现行的石膏板有着不利音响效果的共振性能,当用作墙面和天花板,特别是用在噪音源很大的厂房内时,不能达到所要求的音响参数,因此,对普通石膏板的使用有一定的局限性。
