记得十年前,中央电视台播放的电视专题片《话说长江》曾在海内外引起很大反响,毕竟这是华夏儿女第一次通过电视镜头对长江进行较为全面的了解。而十年后,1998年夏天的长江,让所有中华儿女都把关注的目光汇聚在它身上。人们实实在在地看到了长江的大愤怒,看到了肆虐的洪水洗劫我们的田野,冲毁我们的家园,阻断我们的交通。于是,别无选择的数百万军民在数千里长堤上严防死守乃至死防死守,与滔滔大洪水展开了长达两个多月的持久战。而在这过程中,许多人开始思考这样一些问题:为什么长江会有那么大的全流域性洪水?为什么长江的河床会渐渐增高?为什么长江中下游的湖泊
