一两年前,我从斯奈德《禅定荒野》一书中读到一段话,“初唐诗僧寒山被认为是真正的隐士,他的家宽敞得能延伸到宇宙尽头。”这是我第一次听说寒山子。此后我有过许多出神的时刻——眼前浮现出一个不拘小节、落拓不羁的诗僧形象,他身无长物,但他的风容像烟霞一样轻逸。我想,他能驾驭一缕轻风在山间、在云端、在天地之间,悠游自得。在物质文明无比丰富的时代,人的精神某些层面却没有与之成正比,我想象寒山子骤然出现,反差如此强烈。中国古代隐士早说过类似于斯奈德说过的话——“没有尽头的家”。

At a time when material civilization is extremely rich, the spirit of man has not been directly proportional to it in some aspects. I imagine that the sudden appearance of Hanzai Son is so intense. Ancient Chinese hermits said earlier something similar to what Snyder said - ”Endless Home".
