从1981年开始,我省就对汕优6号陈种子的利用进行研究。经多年试验证明,汕优6号陈种子只要贮藏保管好,其发芽势和发芽率不会明显下降,播后成秧率也高。在大田栽培,除了生育期缩短1～2天外,只要栽培措施跟上,其长势、长相、严量与新种子基本一致。我省1985年利用汕优6号陈种子种植200万亩左右,获得丰收。
