Objective To investigate effect of tramcontin on moderate pain i n patients with advanced tumors and its adverse effects.Method Effect of tramcont in on moderate pai n in patients with advanced tumors wa s summarized and analyz ed.Result50cases showed complete relief,30showed partial relief,22showe d mild relief,14showed no relief.Tota l effective rate was 89.16%.Adv erse effects included dizziness in 20cases,nausea in 15cases,constipat ion in 12cases,somnolence in 2cases.Conclusion Tramcontin can effectively cont rol moderate pain in patients with advanced tumors.Smal l dose of tramcontin or common pills s hould be given for patients without h istory of analgesic admini stra-tion.After 3～5days,dose should be i ncreased to effectual dose or slo w-release form be given.On steroid anti-inflammatory agents should be adminis tered if no favorable therapeutic effect was obtained.
