关于文化的全球性分布,尽管可以有不同的视角,但笼统地说,大致可以从时间和空间两个方面来区分,而完全按照空间(即地理位置)进行分类,则更是学术界所惯常采用的方法。这种“空间分类法”,系指把民族文化及其组合按区域、地区划分为不同的类型或系统,从而归纳出地球上具有相同文化特征的地区。“文化区域”(culture area)或“文化区”或“文化地理区”的概念便由此而来。本文旨在从宏观的角度对世界文化区划分理论进行探讨并作简明扼要的阐释,兼对《内核与外缘——中日文化论》(以下简称《文化论》)一书中的若干不妥之处进行质疑和批评。
