传统的英语教学方法照本宣科地对书本内容进行机械地讲解、空洞地说教,忽视了初中生思想活跃、注意力不持久、自我约束力差的特点,令他们对眼中本就枯燥无味的词汇、语法更加生厌,从而丧失了学习英语的兴趣。而兴趣是学生学习英语的动力,是学生英语学习的必要前提与条件。只有学生对英语学习产生了兴趣,才能始终如一地积极投入英语学习中去,否则必定使学生视学习为负担,那么教学也就失败了。因此,成功的英语教学必须始于激发的学生学习兴趣。而激发学生的兴趣,必须改进传统的教学方法。这也正是笔者提出趣味教学法的意义所在。

Only students interested in learning English, can consistently devote themselves to English learning, otherwise it will certainly make students as a burden of learning, then teaching will fail. Therefore, successful English teaching must begin with students’ interest in learning. To stimulate students’ interest, we must improve the traditional teaching methods. This is exactly what the author put forward the meaning of interesting teaching method.
