Abstract Purpose HYPR flow imaging is a three-dimensional dynamic contrast-enhanced MRA technique that provides isotropic submillimeter spatial resolution at a 0.5-s temporal resolution. Using DSA as a standard, the performance of HYPR flow imaging and contrast agent dynamic time-resolved imaging (TRICKS) MRA in characterization of intracranial arteriovenous malformations (c AVMs) was compared. Methods 22 patients with intracranial arteriovenous malformations underwent HYPR flow imaging and TRICKS MRA within 15 days after DSA. The data were analyzed by two doctors, respectively, including assessment of image quality, Spetzler-Martin score, venous dilatation and deep venous drainage. Results HYPR image quality better than TRICKS (narrower
