北江大桥公路桥采用了14孔64m筒支钢箱梁,公路面宽9m,在钢箱梁的正交异性钢桥面板上铺设铺装层作为公路路面。这种铺装层既要防护桥面钢板不受环境的侵蚀,又须作为公路的磨耗路面,保证行车安全,同时铺装层铺设于变形较大的钢桥面板上,所以不仅要求它具有可靠的防腐蚀能力,而且要求有较大的变形适应能力。又因钢桥面的热容量小,在日照、雨淋频繁交替的情况下,也要求铺装层有较高的温度度定性。
