1988年6月,时任全国人民代表大会副委员长、中国科技大学校长的严济慈先生因原南京工学院改名为东南大学来南京,由中国五笔汉字发明家王永民同志陪同。王永民与我是在中国科技大学同一专业学习时的挚友。我在中国科技大学读书时,严先生是我们一年级至三年级两年半普通物理的教授。严先生的名言是“从我这里主要不是学到多少学问,而是学会做学问的方法。”
In June 1988, Mr. Yan Jici, then Vice Chairman of the National People’s Congress and President of China University of Science and Technology, was renamed as Southeast University to Nanjing for the former Nanjing University of Technology and accompanied by Comrade Wang Yongmin, inventor of Chinese Wushu. Wang Yongmin and I are very close friends at the same major of China University of Science and Technology. When I was studying at the China University of Science and Technology, Mr. Yan was a professor of two-and-a-half years of ordinary physics at our first through third years. Mr. Yen’s famous quote is “not much learning from me, but learning to learn.” "
