由于带传动的工作能力取决于带与带轮间的附着力,而带传动中张紧力大小则对带与带轮间的附着力有直接的影响。张紧力过小时,带传动的能力不能发挥,摩擦磨损加剧,滑动率增大,效率降低。张紧力过大时,压轴力增加,磨损发热严重,寿命迅速缩短。由于传动带不是完全的弹性体,在工作一段时间以后,安装时所保证的张紧力(初拉力)将会降低,为了保证传动的工作能力,应定期检查和重新张紧。
