2000年11月,当首届世界华文文学优秀小说盘房奖举行时,报春鸟般宣告“没有世界性华文文学奖”的历史终将结束。三年后,第二届盛典又在春城举行。由中国作家协会台港澳暨海外华文文学联络委员会、云南省对外文化交流协会主办,昆明盘房公司承办,组织来自亚洲、美洲、欧洲、大洋洲、拉丁美洲及港澳台华文作家到滇西采风。他们泥淋的脚步、勤奋创作的姿态,深深地印在云南秀山碧水间和各族人民心中。
