一吴稚晖(1865—1953年),名敬恒,江苏阳湖(今武进)人,吴稚晖早年所走过的道路。是中国旧知识分子拜师、苦读、考试以猎取功名的传统道路。尊孔读经、忠君卫道的思想十分严重。1892年,江阴知县路过孔庙而未曾下轿,这在当时是属于“大不敬”的行为,吴稚晖岂能容忍这样“非圣无法”之事。他和几个同学一起拦轿质询,以石相击,因而触怒了知县大人,被迫离开南菁书院。1895年,31岁的吴稚晖第三次入京会
