举世闻名的新疆重要古迹楼兰古城,位于罗布泊西部,处于西城的枢纽。她在古代丝绸之路上占有极为重要的地位,是古丝路上西出阳关的第一站。当年在这条交通线上是使者相望于道,交通繁华,城市经济繁荣。奇怪的是,声名赫赫的楼兰国在繁荣兴旺了五六百年之后,却从4世纪开始,史不记载,传不列名,突然销声匿迹了。7世纪时,唐玄奘西游归来,看到楼兰国城廓岿然,人烟断绝,其萧条之景,使人顿生沧桑之感慨。人们不禁要问,楼兰究竟是怎么消失的?楼兰遗址究竟在哪里?
