古典戏曲理论中的伦理批评是一种倡导戏曲故事中应承载伦理道德内容的批评模式。这一批评模式植根于上古时期的礼乐传统,贯穿于整个元明清戏曲理论史。批评中所反映出的伦理道德的承载程度及其内涵自元到清呈现出波浪式变化状态;理论家们在对戏曲进行伦理批评时,紧密结合戏曲自身的特点,指出了戏曲在此功能上与其他艺术形式相比呈现出独特的优越性;综观戏曲史,这一批评模式对戏曲发展及戏曲理论的发展产生了极大的促进作用和影响意义。
