随着IBM PC微机的广泛使用出现了大量的管理程序和许多工业控制程序。但这些程序中都存在着不能用声音表达结果的问题,比如,有些生产控制程序中十分需要用声音告诉人们被控对象的各种参数,有些管理程序中也有待需要用声音和屏幕两种方式显示结果。众所周知,人的语音是多频率正弦波的叠加,而且振幅大小不断变化,但微机中的声音输出是波形单一振幅大小不变的脉冲时序。在软件上也只能实现对频率和发音长短的控制,无法实现多频率波形的叠加,所以要用它来合成人的语音是无法办到的。那么要在微机上实现语音输出就必须放弃原有的声音输出功能,而重新设计一个新的语音输出系统,来实现语音的输出。
