Preface By the Chinese Association of Conservation of Art Light and Electron Spin Resonance dating Professional Committee (affiliated to the Shanghai Museum) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Ionizing Radiation co-sponsored by the eighth national luminescence (Luminescence) and electron spin resonance (ESR) dating conference was held in Haikou, Hainan Province from March 25 to March 32, 2002.
