目前,长城墙体保存的状况总体堪忧,保存较好的不足10%,保存较差的占40%,坍塌消失的为30%以上,消失总长度超过1962公里。当前,长城保护最大的难题和最紧迫的任务,是打破区域界限,改变画地为牢的责任体系,建立起强有力的组织协调机制,要把长城作为一个整体保护起来。
